Back to Sunday Church Service Broadcast

Curt Wahlberg

First Reader

Curt Wahlberg grew up on the lakes and beaches of Michigan, and as a young child, regularly attended the Sunday School of the Congregational Church in his community. Despite getting into more than his share of trouble there, he found a real love of church. And that was particularly the case when he and the other kids got to participate in the Sunday services.

When he graduated from that Sunday School at age 12, he was more than happy to take advantage of an opportunity to attend the Christian Science Sunday School down the street. And it was there that he quickly discovered a love for the Science of Being, or as it’s more commonly referred to, Christian Science.

A few years later, he began his college studies at Purdue University, where Sunday School, church, and the campus Christian Science Organization played an important role in his life. Meanwhile, he eventually completed a Master’s degree in engineering. This led to a brief career in the aerospace and refrigeration industries in the United States and Europe. But it was a growing interest in spiritual healing that soon prompted him to shift directions and devote his time to the public practice of Christian Science.

Since then, he’s become a steady contributor to the Christian Science periodicals and on spirituality.com. As a member of The Mother Church, he has helped the Office of the Clerk and The Writings of Mary Baker Eddy in various capacities. In 2006, he became an authorized teacher of Christian Science. He has also been an active branch church member in the numerous communities where he and his family have lived. And whether in his branch church Sunday School, with his own three little ones, or at their school, kids have always had an important place in Curt’s work.
