SUMMARY
The Marketing and Literary Project Administrator,
General Publications, will work with projects involving product development,
production, marketing, and sales activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES
Duties include involvement in:
· Product research and conceptualization
· Market research and forecasting
· Product development
· Production planning and implementation
· Marketing and sale planning and implementation
· Advertising and merchandizing development
· Product sales training
Main Responsibilities (and approximate time spent on each):
1. Marketing: Helps achieve revenue and goals by assisting in the development and direction of marketing programs. (30%)
· Works with marketing and sales planning
· Helps develop and manage advertising and merchandizing collateral
· Responds to unexpected marketing opportunities
· Coordinates marketing efforts with other church-based initiatives
· Reviews and analyzes sales by product and distribution
2. Product Management: Responsible for assisting with product development and project management of assigned product groups. (60%)
· Researches, develops and recommends literary-related product ideas; assists in the development of supportive business and marketing strategies
· Coordinates a variety of service providers: outside talent and producers, in-house production, printers, media duplicators, designers, etc
· Interactswith production, fulfillment, distribution, and customer service
· Manages procurement and financial aspects of products as well as product inventory.
· Reviews process for literary products submitted from the Field
· Responds to varied product line policy issues

Education/Experience
Requires a college degree with 2- 4 years professional experience or
equivalent in a publishing, product development, and/or marketing environment.
Knowledge/Skills
Requires strong written and verbal communication skills and exceptional
organizational skills; must be detail-oriented and self-motivated. S/he should have
experience in project management including scheduling and expediting; must
excel at working both individually and in a team environment, and have a desire
to develop excellent working relationships. This position must maintain a clear
understanding of the unique and vital mission of the periodicals and General
Publications, and the recognition that sound business and promotional programs
are grounded in spiritual insight and demonstration. Graphic design experience or skills a plus.
Technology Skills
This position requires strong computer skills including:
word processing, spreadsheet and presentation programs, as well as a working
understanding of internet-based marketing and sales.
