Oracle Applications Database Administrator

SUMMARY:

·        Provide expert support for Oracle Applications R12 Database Administration functions including introduction of best practices.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIES:

 

1.      At least 5 years supporting Oracle Applications 11i as an Oracle Applications Database Administrator

2.      At least 2 years supporting Oracle Applications for releases 11.5.10 or higher

3.      Responsible as the Lead Oracle Applications Database Administration during at least one full Oracle Applications upgrade and one Oracle database upgrade

4.      Expertise with the following activities:

·        Researching, designing, developing, and implementing patching for Oracle Applications and the associated technology stack

·        Cloning and refreshing instances

·        Developing policies, procedures and documentation for critical and routine administrative tasks

·        Assessing and designing system architectures for implementing solutions (e.g. creation of instances, performance tuning, approaches to solution implementation, etc.)

·        Providing knowledge transfer to staff DBAs, System Administrators and users

·        Developing and implementing policies and procedures for backup and recovery

·        Oracle Workflow administration

·        Troubleshooting Workflow transactions

·        Applications, database and transaction performance tuning

·        Assessing system metrics for trend analysis

·        Managing and administering concurrent managers, concurrent programs and concurrent processing

·        Configuring Profile Options

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

1.      A methodical and structured approach to planning and executing work

2.      Familiarity with applicable Sarbanes Oxley conventions

3.       Familiarity with Oracle Applications modules and technologies:

·        Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM)

·        Recovery Manager (RMAN)

·        Single-Sign On (SSO)

·        General Ledger (GL), Assets (FA), Payables (AP), Purchasing (PO), Oracle Alert, Self-Service

·        Workflow

·        Oracle Discoverer

4.         Current Oracle certification (OCP) as an Oracle Database Administrator or Oracle Applications Database Administrator

5.       Excellent verbal and written communications skills

6.       A bachelor’s degree in technology, business or finance
